“Palo Alto” is an enjoyable experience filled with just the right amount of teen angst, romance, and drama. However this isn't just a film for teenagers, adults can enjoy it too there's a sense of maturity in “Palo Alto” that many teen films seem to lack. If you’re looking for a film to watch, this is the one it’s not too long and its worth the ticket price. You can tell that the director put time and effort into making this film and all around good time.
The director of “Palo Alto” is 27 year old Gia Coppola, this was her directorial debut.
Coppola comes from a line of well known filmmakers, her grandfather is Francis Ford Coppola and her aunt is Sofia Coppola, because of this Gia Coppola did not want any help with the film from her family, she wanted to establish herself as a filmmaker on her own. Before becoming a film “Palo Alto” was originally a book of short stories written by James Franco about his life living in the northern California town called Palo Alto. Coppola wrote the screenplay as well as directed “Palo Alto”

The dialog between characters is meaningful as well as comedic. The actors portray their characters really well, not one moment seems forced or over exaggerated. Despite there being no A-list stars in the film, Coppola made a good decision in picking her actors for most of them “Palo Alto” is their first acting gig.
