Participatory culture is not just about being an individual who consumes things but who also acts and an individual that contributes and produces information. An example of this is Web 2.0 which enabled this phenomenon to happen. Web 2.0 made it easier for multiple platforms and people to consume, contribute, and produce information with each other multilaterally across the globe. Blogging is a huge part of Participatory culture with you being able to produce a short reading or article and have people all over the world help contribute to it by adding it help hints on how to make it better or ways you could also phrase the sentence. You also have the consumers in the group in which take the information that you wrote and use it to benefit them in some shape. The forces are a mix of top-down and bottom-up forces. These audiences can share content for their own purpose, with and without permission. Spreadable media focuses on social logics and cultural practices that have helped enable and popularized new platforms. Social media is a huge part of Spreadable media because people can post whatever they want on any sort of any social media site without any permission from any one.
Participatory culture and spreadable media happen throughout the world every second of every minute of every day. Well doing this reflection I have reflected on how I have not just consumed information from the media but how I have also contributed to it and in some cases produced it in some way. The biggest way I believe my peers and I use Participatory culture is through social media. Well reflection it is also enlightening to see how much I have helped and contributed to the sharing of
