At just the small age of four, I was placed in Soccer Shots,Little League Baseball, and Tiny Tots Hockey. All of this was courtesy of my father who was looking to raise a star athlete after the athletic disappointment that was my brother.Once I was able to start school, my mother had me placed in the best, most expensive, private school in the whole state of Ohio. I spent majority of my childhood trying to please my mother academically and my father athletically.I find myself still trying to please my parent’s rather than myself.Whether high or low, it is far from rare to be seen not dealing with parental expectations. In the short story “Star Food” by Ethan Canin, we see a similar issue of parental expectations.
