This structure was built during the reign of Augustus in the years 27 BC – 14 AD. What is evident is the influence that Greek culture has had on the Romans when viewing the Pantheon. Even the names Parthenon and Pantheon are almost similar. Though Rome at one time conquered Greece, Heavy influence of Greek culture is displayed through Roman art and design. My guess is that this structure was used as a temple or church of some kind. Further research shows that the Pantheon, is a structural marvel that holds the largest unreinforced concrete dome.
