Pass-in Review originates from the National Guard, ever since WW1, they have continued to use this service as a way to remember fallen soldiers. The exact culture is unknown because it has been around for 240 years. Military has acted out on this tradition to ensure that a new commander is correctly inspecting his troops. Their skills made them one of the most well-known and powerful army in ancient civilizations. However, the fall of Rome also caused the army to fall. They were forced to alter their fighting practice, to many it became “less Roman”. In the height of Rome, the civilization may have a population 45 to 120 million people. This meant more soldiers were recruited. Fighting was a strong suit of the Romans. They began getting paid very well and became very experienced. A British writer wrote about the Romans and said “just like the Marines, but much nastier.” This also means Marines were very talented as well.
Marines were also skilled but influenced by several other places. Places such as, Europe, Native Americans, and Ancient Rome, they got many of their tactics and traditions from them. A tradition that was passed along was music. Music was often played during war or while marching. Music was played to signal troops. Music is played during marching during Pass-In review. The rules or regulations of Pass-In Review have stayed the
