An agonize family leaves their country in hopes to obtain a better life in the United States of America. They live in poverty and are tired of the injustices done against them. They sell everything and head off to the border. After many struggles, they finally reach the United States along with them is their 2-year-old son. He does not understand nor has any idea about what is going on. He had no fault or say in his parents’ choice to migrate to the United States. For the rest of his life he has to live in the shadows and with the constant fear of being deported but it does not have to be this way. Passing the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act (Dream Act) will give a chance to the community of minors that is essentially already American to become legal Americans. Through their academic accomplishments and no criminal records, have confirmed themselves able to be true trustworthy, active, intellectual, and beneficial American citizen. Congress should pass the Dream act.
