Patrick Henry uses a negative tone in his “Speech to the Virginia Convention “. The tone is evident when he says “suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss.”(Henry 6). This shows pathos by saying the Loyalist will be played and that the British will end up losing. Another example is “Let us not deceive ourselves,sir. These are implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort.”( Henry 10-11). Henry explains that the king will have to call to his last measurements to try and win the war even though they are being defeated,
