Many details in Paul Bloom’s essay makes a major argument about empathy. Empathy increases the focus of moral thought, emotion and action. In this quote, “to see the world through the eyes of those who are different from us”, people should put themselves in other people's shoes. Empathy is discussed through the focus of stress due to one individual which prevents others from seeing the sufferings of thousands of countless others. It is considered necessary for human survival even though empathy has some unfortunate features, and or problems, amongst it. Some of the major cases that support or provide evidence of empathy are murders such as the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, political issues and policies, and last psychopaths.
