Sadness and Rage
What is life but a poem, ups and downs, songs of happiness and pain and being caged. Though poems can be similar they can have completely different meaning and takes on their situation, like “Sympathy ” written by Paul Dunbar during the reconstruction period of america, which had influenced him to write the poem. Though much later another poem was written by Maya Angelou called “Caged bird”. Though they might be based off the same thing they aren’t really alike at all.
Dunbar was born during the reconstruction era of america and both of his parents were freed slaves. While his parents separated while he was young he was young he always had a great love of poetry at the age of 14 he published his first poem. Throughout
