Paul Jackson Pollock, known as Jackson Pollock, was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He also was well known for his unique style of drip painting. He was born in Cody, Wyoming on January 28, 1912. His father, Mr. LeRoy, Pollock was a farmer and a land surveyor while her mother; Mrs. Stella McClure was a fierce lady with a lot of ambitions of art. Jackson was the youngest child out of five brothers. He was very needy and attentive child while he tried to get so much of attention when he did not receive. When Pollock was young, his family moved to West such to Arizona, and California. Few years later, his father left his whole family. So his older brother is like his father to him. The name was Charles Pollock. He also was an artist. The family moved back to Los Angeles, California from Arizona so Pollock attended a school named Manual Arts High School where he found his ambitions and passion for art. He was expelled twice for ditching because he was doing his artworks. When he became 18 years old, he moved to New York City to live with Charles.
