I also enjoy simply having a good time with the campers. Whether it is playing sports or doing crafts, I enjoy the positivity and enjoyment that I feel whenever I am surrounded with kids. Seeing them smile when I crack a joke or do something silly, truly makes my day. I remember last year, whenever a child needed me to help them, I felt a wonderful sense of responsibility and enjoyed the simple task of helping them.
I remember that one day a young girl was in the office to go home because she was injured. At first she did not want to talk to me because she was upset about her injury. So, instead of forcing her to talk to me, we played a game together. As we played the game together, she started to get more comfortable with me. Eventually, opened up and she started to talk. By the time that she went home, we were having a great time laughing together. I hope that, although her day was not going well, I was able to help her turn her day around and help her forget about the pain that she was in.
