Peloponnese earthquake occurred in 2008 because of stress between Eurasia plate and small Aegean Sea plate. As a result, two people were killed; about 220 people were injured and almost 2000 rendered homeless. The quake was too strong that it was felt in far places like southern Italy and Athens. The earthquake was too severe that it contributed to the following vulnerabilities; it damaged buildings and caused a negative impact on the ground.
About 1156 buildings were destroyed in the cities of Elis and Achaea. The quake was too severe that it generated a strong power that destroyed buildings in an area of about 2000km2.
