Every day of my life revolves around technological devices. I don't know if I would be able to survive without my cell phone, Internet, tablets, my laptop, a printer or anything that helps me make my days easier. I have tried going a week without any of the unnecessary devices that I survived the first fifteen years of my life without but I feel like something is missing in my life without using any of these things throughout my day.
My cell phone is my connection to the world. My children also rely on most of these technological devices. My cell phone is my recipe book, my calendar, my alarm clock and my radio. I wake up and the first thing I look for is my phone. My children also rely on my phone to keep in contact with their fathers, to listen to music and to play games. The disadvantage is that now my family and I are very dependent on these things. The advantage would be convenience.
The Internet is our entrance to the world. It helps us learn about everything and anything you might have questions about. It helps us keep in contact with our family and friends from far away through Skype. I use the internet about twenty times a day at a minimum. My child who doesn't go to school yet has learned a lot with the help of the Internet. He’s learned colors and numbers, shapes and small words with the help of me reading to him and the internet. When I have to do research for school I can do it in the comfort if my home. The Internet has the answer to any question you might have, as insignificant or significant as the question might be. Everyone likes to learn and with the help of the World Wide Web we can learn something every day.
Tablets are an essential part of my children’s life on long car rides, to read, math workouts, also to watch movies and play educational games. My children use their tablets after school until seven o'clock every day. We use the tablet as a GPS when we need to get somewhere and it’s something the whole family can use. We like it because it is fun, helpful and educational all at once.
