Tramadol is also known by its brand name Ultram. It also exists under other brand names but this one is one of the most common brands. Like previously discussed, it is used to treat varying levels of chronic pain.
However, it can also be used to treat cancer in periods less than 3 months. Since this medication is also less addictive, it is clinically valued lower than most opiates. Tramadol stands apart from opiates for two reasons.
1) It is fully synthetic. This means that it is a man made drug. Most opiates are either derived from a poppy seed or they are semi-synthetic drugs. And 2) it has an uncommon benefit. Oxycodone was first produced in 1916 by German researchers. German researchers first discovered this when they were trying to discover a new painkiller that would be less addicting. That’s 46 years before Tramadol was being first manufactured by the German drug company.
Percocet is a common pain medication. Even though it doesn’t have the addictive qualities of some of the more powerful opiates in the opioid family, it still has the capacity to be addictive enough for it to develop into a substance abuse problem. If you misuse this drug, there can be a lot of unpleasant side effects.

Percocet, or what is now known as Percocet, was first put on the market in 1976. That’s one year before Tramadol was put on the market. This drug actually used to be administered to coal miners so they can cope with the pain of their job. Addiction to this drug soon became a problem among coal miners.
There may be legal action pending in the future for the ban or limitation of this drug, but that is in the future and won’t help those who are currently struggling with addiction now. However, there may be some ways that pharmaceutical sales can aid in the prevention.
Back in 2009 the pharmaceutical company that manufactures this drug decided to limit the sales of this drug and related drugs due to related deaths that had been reported. During this year there were 400 alleged deaths. There have even been studies done in Canada in relation to Percocet related deaths.
