This fall, Lake Catholic’s Performing Arts Department will be putting on the play, Our Town,in the auditorium. This year’s drama takes us back to early 20th century America, when everyone knew each other’s name and milk was delivered to homes on a daily basis. Our Town illustrates the romantic relationship between George Gibbs (Tyler Collins) and Emily Webb (Paige Hiedrich). The audience is able to watch the couple’s relationship blossom, beginning with the characters’ early days as neighbors.
This year’s play is different from those of the past because it allows the fourth wall between the actors and the audience members to be broken. The bridge between the two is the Stage Manager (Justin MacDonald), who narrates and reflects on the occurrences throughout show. Our Town also has a minimalist approach to its use of scenery and props, so be prepared to see a Lake Catholic production that will be like no other.
Our Town will run from Thursday, November 14 through Sunday, November 17 in the Lake Catholic auditorium. The performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will begin at 7:30 pm, and the Sunday show will start at 3:00 pm. The show’s message highlights the importance of living life to the fullest and appreciating every moment that you are given. Coming to see Lake Catholic’s production of Our Town is the perfect opportunity to live out this theme.
Currently, Mr. Posey along with the show’s cast and crew are working their hardest to put together a production
