In person-centered therapy, it is the client who directs the direction of the therapy, and the therapist acts as a guide. In the video, Carl Rogers summarizes critical features of his therapeutic approach, person-centered therapy. Three of these features are: congruency, unconditional positive regard, and empathy. Rogers theorized that if the therapist included these features, the client would make significant progress in there therapy.
