In the Crisis intervention book, specifically Chapter 12: Personal Loss: Bereavement and Grief touched on a lot of personal experiences. This included Bereavement in elderly, Separation and Divorce, Job Loss, and HIV/AIDS. Each situation has affected someone that was dear to me which ultimately affected me as well. If I knew then what I knew now; I believe that I would have been able to help in some way with the emotional turmoil that came with each experience.
As mentioned in one of the discussion forms I relatively have a hard time dealing with grief. Specifically when people come to me, which they do very often, and openly express some sort of crisis they are in. There is an abundance of emotion that comes along with these experiences.
