To my left sits a family eating overpriced mall food, in front of me a father holding his daughter, young parents with strollers walking everywhere. Families seem to enjoy their Saturday evening at the mall. Families who are not close don’t spend free time together at the mall; they would rather spend it by themselves or with someone else. I know this from my own experience. However, the families here all seem very happy and close to each other. Smiling, chatting, laughing, sharing food, picking clothes for each other, a perfect Saturday evening. A lot of fathers are left with the baby, while the mothers shop. I overheard a father talking to his son in the gentlest tone; I would like a husband like that one day. Fathers seem so gentle and happy playing with their kids. All the staring and attention doesn’t seem to bother them, as they look very pleased to be stared at. A young girl strolling a stroller around with killer heels and a crop top in this weather makes it look like it’s still July but its October and 50 degrees outside. Her caked face looks like she is ready to meet Rihanna. Her body language coveys the confidence she has in her appearance.
