Hello everyone. I’m Jay and I guess you can officially say I’m a senior in college. Yay! I’m 23 years old. I’m a criminal justice major, I finally found a major that I actually care for and enjoy. I have switched majors many times throughout my college life. I would have graduated this past spring if I had kept my previous major, which was case management. Fun fact about me is I am going to be on vacation in Acapulco for 2 weeks while this course is going on. You might ask why? Why, take summer school when you are going on vacation? The answer is simple, I love challenges and risks, I seriously do, but no, the reason I am doing this is because I know I am capable and responsible of completing everything that is expected of me. I have it all calculated in my calendar, plus I like moving at my own pace and as the professor Gardiner mentioned we have almost endless choices of where we get our work done. The lyrics are, “High achiever, don't you see? Baby, nothing comes for free. They say I'm a control freak, driven by a greed to succeed. Nobody can stop me.” This describes me so well because I am a high achiever, and I’m a strong believer that the good things in life, do not come for free or easily, one must work hard. Indeed, I do have a greed to succeed but then again who doesn’t want to be successful? Another lyric from the song that I relate to is, “Are you satisfied with an average life?” I have seen my friends and family members live the average life, and when I mean the average life, I mean just settling for so little while they have so many opportunities and potential for a much better life and I do not know why.
