My love for all things fast began with my earliest memories of car rides. I recall the way my eyes were glued to the window of my family’s 2006 Acura TSX as we drove about Warrenton, Georgia. As time passed between car rides, I grew to crave the exhilaration of being in a fast car from the stomach churning acceleration at traffic lights to the wild thrashing around that came with sharp turns (now that I’m older I realize my mother’s driving wasn’t exactly chauffer material). A longing that spurred my childhood dream of being a racecar driver. In retrospect, I realize these are the moments that swayed that first green flag of a lifelong race to become the embodiment of speed. For example, my friends and family all have a running joke in which they’ll often remind me to breathe whenever I become entranced in one of my unabating ramblings. The truth is my mind just moves at 768.2 miles per-just a tad faster than the speed at which my words can reach my audience aka the speed of sound. My mind just cannot justify a reason to remain bound within the shackles of silence, and by speaking I am able to release a torrent of ideas, jokes, and quirky facts. All of this allowed me to be a superstar at the timed math drills in 2nd grade, and retain that status to this very day as my mind races to answer a scholar’s bowl
