“ If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” Last year, over Christmas Break, my family and I traveled down to Castle Rock, Colorado for a gymnastics meet. Last night, we had all packed and put the luggage in the car. As soon as it was, 4:30 am we had to wake up to get ready to go down to the airport. My mom’s old college friend had driven us to United Airlines. We has checked in and dropped of our bags. Afterward, we had arrived at 11:00am. We checked into the hotel. Which was really pretty. After, we all got situated. The rooms were small so we had gotten two. My mom and I had went into one room while, my dad and my brother went in the room nextdoor. Soon, it was 10:00 and we had gotten to the competition and I met up with my team and we went to the practice room. We started of on the vault and we all warmed up and waited to be called onto the platform. As a result, of us waiting we got extremely nervous. We all were finished competing and we all scored higher than an 8.0/10. Then, we had to go to the practice room to warm up are beam routines. We all warmed up solidly and we walked out onto the mats to perform are beam routine. We all didn’t do are best but it was ok because we knew we can get a better overall score in something else. Afterward, we had an intermission so my family went out for a little lunch and walked around Castle Rock for a couple hours until we had to go back for the second half of day 1. Finally, it was time to go back to the convention arena. We went and warmed up and we had bars first for the second half. We put are chalk on are hands and walked to the performance area where the bars were. We all did very well. However, it was time for the floor routine. Floor is my best event in gymnastics because it incorporates gymnastics and dance in one routine. I waited behind stage for about 10 minutes waiting to be called. I kept hearing my coach's voice say stick to the routine.” Finally, they called me to the floor. I could still smell the chalk from my hands from bars. I had …show more content…
Lastly, I started going for my finally pass the round off back handspring layout double twist. I could land this skill in practice all the time but my coach knew I struggled when it came to doing it on the floor at competitions. I went for the round off back handspring layout and I knew I wasn’t high enough to go and twist two times in one skill but, I had to. Until, I went for it and fell. I saw my mom and dad’s face as I fell to the ground. I could hear 2 snaps in one place. I saw for a quick second my mom sit there seeing if I got up but, I didn’t I just couldn’t. Then, I saw my coach and my mom and medical care run down for me. But before i knew it, everything went
