On September 16 my family was blessed with a little girl, Ellianah Kate McDonald, we call her Elli Kate for short. Two hours after she was born Lu and I were rushed to the hospital to go visit Elli Kate. She was 5 pounds, 12 ounces and her head was about the size of your fist. I remember looking at this little gift of God and wondering what she was going to think of me would she like me, would she think I was a good sister. When we left the hospital I remember feeling so happy, everything was okay Ellianah was a healthy little girl, nothing was wrong. Or at least that's what I thought we still had more testing to do.
The next day at about 5:30 my mom and dad brought home our little bundle of joy. It seemed like everything was going as planned she had a little bit more testing to do but we weren't worried I guess we should have been. About three days later my mom went back to the hospital with my sister. I went to school and we all had a normal day everything was fine. I didn’t know how serious the conversation was going to end up being, all I knew is that I was scared. All kids look up to their parents as if the could save them from anything monsters, bugs, even sickness but that's not true.
