A couple of other things I considered was, first, a poster. The reason a decided against a poster was the aspect of separating the issue with the proper solution. On a poster everything is laid out for view at the same time. In my PowerPoint, I was able to save the solution for after the establishment of facts. Second, I had considered making an iMovie. The reason I rejected this multimodal was because it left out the aspect of reading facts, viewing images, and constructing an opinion. While watching a movie, an individual only has a certain amount of time to process what they have just watched before the next scene occurs. I specifically used the section titled “Checklist: Guidelines for Creating an Online Text” (45). This was crucial in formulating a layout for my project and also for reviewing my PowerPoint upon competition. Furthermore, the textbook Writing about Writing dedicates the whole fifth chapter to multimodal compositions. The difference between the two texts is that Easy Writer focuses more on how to construct a multimodal and Writing about Writing contains excerpts from many different authors relating to multimodal compositions. These excerpts were fundamental to me because they helped me to understand what a multimodal was rather than how to formulate one. The editors of this text define multimodal as “multimedia texts combining multiple modes, such as alphabetic, visual and aural” (685). My PowerPoint contains the alphabetic and visual aspects clearly, and the aural aspect when it is presented. Additionally, the multimodal is relative to the course as it is centered around a cultural issue. This course emphasizes literacy based on cultural topics; as in the title, “Composition and
