How did I get lucky and not get the society based label of a criminal? I would be lying if I would say that I didn’t get into any trouble as a juvenile. The fact of the matter is that I was just never caught. There were also some aspects of my life that helped me stay away from being a criminal. Those factors were my geography, opportunities in life, my psychological ideas and being blessed with loving and strict parents. As I was growing up my parents were on the stricter spectrum of parenting. They had given me some leeway when it came to going over to a buddies house and staying the night. In my middle to upper class community it led me to many more opportunities than if I had lived in a lower class community. I had the opportunity to play in recreational sports when I was younger and that had taken up a lot of my time. I didn't have time to go out and get myself into trouble for the most. There was always after school activities that I could participate in. I did Model UN that had took up some of my time and it encouraged me to do more than just go to school. That had given me a reason to stay out of trouble while I was in school. Schools have many paths from being an A plus student to a struggling kid just trying to make it through the day. I played a role where I was in between those two paths. I had decent grades but was no where close to a scholar but I was able to make it through the day. The difference between me and many other students in America is that I went to a high ranked school across the country. This gave me the opportunity to succeed well in school. The teachers believed in all of the students that they were capable of passing the classes and graduated high school. Every single student that stepped in the school on the first day of school had the same opportunity of graduating. This caused the violence to be low at my school district but drugs were a small
