You never realize how rude people can be until you’ve put yourself in the position of working fast food. I’ve never really been one to judge a book by its cover, nor have I ever been the person to get so utterly frustrated with a complete stranger; but you definitely encounter people that test your patience. The first bad experience I had with a customer at Arby’s was just two or three days after I started. Keep in mind that this is my first job, and I was still learning the system and getting used to things. But I also become more agitated with customers and encounter customers who get themselves way out of line. Just a few short months ago, a man and his wife came in to eat in the lobby. Them coming into the lobby to eat was no problem–the real problem started when he presented us with a coupon that just happened to be expired. I guess he didn’t take the time to pay attention to the expiration date because he then proceeded to make a big scene and blame him not being able to use the coupon on …show more content…
Using my little cash register with an attached microphone I acted as if every “customer” that I spoke to was the nicest person ever. If only that was how the real world worked, because it definitely does not. Working fast food, starting at the age of sixteen, has showed me that there are very many snooty, rude people in this world. In my opinion, everyone should have to experience working in a fast food environment, because if that was so, the way us workers are treated would be so much better and we might actually like our jobs–just a little
