Personal Narrative: Flashbulb Memory

I can remember it like it was yesterday, it was a cold cloudy Saturday in February. I remember plain as day that it was around 42 degrees Fahrenheit, and there was a rainy overcast. The day began like most Saturdays, we stopped for our Saturday breakfast at the nearby gas station, and had a quick bite, and talked with neighboring farmer Charlie Johnson. We finished breakfast and began the three hour drive to Welch, Oklahoma; to look at a group of show heifers for my little brother. After three hours, we made it to Welch, and had a gander at all the heifers that the breeder had to offer. We settled on a black baldy, crossbred heifer that my brother fell in love with. We loaded her up and began the journey back home. At about the halfway mark it began to rain, and soon enough we received a phone call that took us all in shock. My grandmother had called us, and gave the tragic news we had not prepared for. My sweet loving great grandmother had passed away that morning in her sleep. I can remember every single detail down to what mile marker we were at on state highway 69. I can even remember the black Chevy pickup truck I honked at, for driving to slow. The one that always stays the clearest is the day my great grandmother passed away. That event which was a very tough time was easily to be memorized. This example that I described at the beginning of the essay, is what I would call a negative example of Flashbulb Memory. The situation that took place caused numerous emotions. Which is a benefactor in keeping flashbulb memory. I was experiencing that day many emotions from sadness, to happiness, to anger, to guilt. All while thinking of the tragedy that has occurred. It allowed for my mind to process countless tnormally would be useless. This one instance is a personal example of flashbulb
