Personal Narrative: High School Musical

I was expecting high school to be like the movie High School Musical, but now that I look at reality, I know that it is not. I’m looking forward to high school though. Everyone makes high school seem scary and terrible. After listening to most of the stories from former freshmen, I get very nervous just thinking about it. I’m actually looking forward to moving up and experiencing new things. In the high school, you can join more clubs, join different sports/activities, and have a lot more freedom. CAP/SADD is a huge club that is very important to our school. It stands for Community Action Program/Students Against Destructive Decisions. We would like to protect our community, inspire them, and change the way they see the world. Our high school is really trying to enforce that program. An example of an activity that we do is called a Mock Crash. On a day close to prom, they have students re enact a crash. The students show what could happen if you drink and drive. For example, in the 2016 season, the softball team won the State Championship and are looking to defend their title. In 2015, the boys Varsity basketball team won State Championship, but the seniors couldn’t return to defend their title. The Majorettes and Color Guard have just competed at a competition and placed. Hanging in the gym at the high school are banners for each WPIAL win for each sport. Our sports include swim team, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, cheerleading, softball, baseball, track and field, golf, majorettes, colorguard, football, wrestling, gymnastics, girls lacrosse, bowling, and volleyball. Our athletic department has a very wide variety of unique sports and activities to compete and play in. The sport that I currently participate in at the high school is cheerleading. I plan on trying out for volleyball and
