My cooperating teacher utilizes fun phrases to quiet down the classroom. Like in video #2 raising her voice is not necessary. The teacher may say something like “oh me” the students then respond with “oh my”. She also has a creative way to ask questions during any lesson. She has a card for each individual student. So whenever she asks a question, she picks a card and says the name. This works because we avoid all the shouting and overlapping of voices in the classroom. Students also have job positions in the classroom which include; paper passer, lunch counter, line leaders, etc. This allows students to obtain responsibility and make things flow smoothly without interrupting any class time.
