Going home was another major setback, talking about college was not the major subject at my house. My mom did not think I wanted to continue my education, and even if I did want too, it was something we could not afford. My frustrations were up high; my grades and my job ethics were showing it too. I was slowly losing hope, and trying to figure out if college was even for me. I later applied to Holy Cross, and fortunately was accepted. I was extremely ecstatic; being accepted was not the best part. What amazed me was that Holy Cross College granted me with a scholarship called the Juan Diego Scholarship. It would pay for most of my tuition for the four years at Holy Cross. I could not pass something that great, not thinking twice I accepted it. During the summer I worked overtime, and had a second job, to pay off my books, and my own expenses. I also bought a car, to have my own transportation for classes and my job during the
