As a Historic Preservation Worker I used my skills and my acute attention to detail to restore and preserve structures, facilities, and materials in Yosemite National Park. I worked with journeymen to repoint historic chimneys in the park. I gained experience assembling, working on, and dissembling scaffolding in order to complete tasks. I was responsible for mixing mortar to complete the job. I identified failing mortor on the chimneys and I used a hammer and chisel, as well as a rock hammer, to rake out failing mortor. I used a variety of pointers to apply the new mortor. I assisted jorneymen in the milling of a fallen sequioa to create a public bench.
