During my first two years of college I had countless family issues that made me less available for school and more accessible to my family. I really did suffer academically but over time I began to understand time management more. Finally when the issues began to dissipate I was able to put more time into school. I became a tour guide on campus as well as a resident assistant. I was responsible for 35-40 freshmen the three years I was a resident assistant. During my time as a tour guide I learned how to walk backwards and I got to meet leaders from across the state. I even ate dinner with Madeline Albright before she spoke to my university. Starting my sophomore year until I graduated, I was a teaching assistant for several chemistry labs. I really appreciated this job because it helped me grow on my knowledge of chemistry. Having these different leadership roles around campus gave me a sense that I want to become a leader in my future
