I attended Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio (near Cleveland), which is where my husband and I met. He was already a four-year Navy man, which turned into a 26 year career when we married in 1958, making me a Navy Wife. This meant I was the sole parent for two daughters when he was away on deployments. I believe those experiences made us strong, caring, and self-reliant. Being in the Navy was an interesting life, taking us from Maine to Florida to Southern California, and retiring near my parents, who had moved to North Carolina.
