Personal Narrative: My Experience Of Living In Arizona

One part of my life that I will always remember is my experience living in Arizona. For me, Arizona was the best place I remember living in. I can say that I had a lot of first time experiences there, good and bad ones. The reason I moved to Arizona in 2009-2010 is that my Dad was deployed in the army, and got a job in a small town called Sierra Vista, Tucson. That place is also where I grew up, and started school. I met my first friends at Village Meadows Elementary School; Even though I don't talk to them anymore, they're still my best friends. I later adopted my first dogs there, and I still have them to this day. Everything was normal for me growing up there until one unbelievable thing happened. I lived about 3 miles away from the Huachuca mountains that separated Arizona from Mexico My friends and I would hike up there, and play around sometimes. It was around August a few week, before my birthday. I was in my backyard that day, the sky and clouds had turned orange, ashes fell like snow, and smoke filled the air around me. Even from the ground I could smell the stench of burning wood and feel the heat from afar. …show more content…
I don't remember much after that, but if I had lived any closer to the mountains my house would have burned down. Thankfully that was the first and the last time I experienced a wildfire.
