The first barrier that I was determined to overcome was the language barrier. This was the toughest and most important one to overcome, as being able to verbally communicate with people makes life so much easier. Moreover, I started learning how to be able to speak in a way that people will, atleast, get what I want or need.After that, I got better and better in expressing what I was thinking to others. I believe that everything I learned in school plus all the hard work that I did outside of school, such as reading books and communicating with people, has helped me a lot with overcoming this barrier. …show more content…
As soon as I came here I learned that to become a more effective person in my community I had to understand the way people think; the only way to do that was through understanding the culture.
