Personal Narrative: My First Generation Mexican Americans

My parents were born and raised in Mexico; my mom was born in Coahuila, Mexico and my dad was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. In the early 1990’s my mom and dad came to the United States immigrated to start a better life. They both came without knowing each other at all and met one another over here in the U.S. My mom and dad came without any money or anything else and were somewhat poor but, still somehow managed to keep going ahead and later bought a house and their other needs. So for that me and my siblings are a first generation Mexican Americans and are glad to be a part of the Mexican community. I fit in the Mexican community by participating in traditional celebrations, being bilingual, and listening to the music.
