The first track meet this season
Getting ready for my first track meet of the year, the team was packing their bags to get ready to head up to Pittsburg. I finally finished packing all of my track gear and one of my buddies named Isiah stood in front of me, standing tall at about five foot eleven and weighing about a hundred and seventy five pounds.
He asked me, “Are you ready for your meet?”
I said, “Of course I am, man.”
He said, “That’s what I like to hear! Good luck out there bro.”
I said, “Thanks man, I’m going to need it.”

He yelled, “Set!” I raised my rear end and was ready to run. My heart was pumping so fast and I felt like I’ve been shot with adrenaline. As the gunshot went off, I quickly stepped off with one foot to the next foot and following with the next, I felt like I was moving at the speed of lightning. I was in first place trying to keep the lead when one kid slowly crept up to hang right beside me the whole last fifty meters, I pushed myself even harder. We both ended at the same time it felt like when we passed the finish line. I looked at the guy who was hanging beside me, I told him he did a good job, I didn’t get a response back from him. We walked over to the bench and waited for the results. Finally one of the coaches walked over told me that I had gotten first in my heat and second overall in the whole one hundred meter meet. I was so excited, I wouldn’t of ever dreamed of getting second overall. I got up to walk back to the bus and I felt a slight pain the back of my leg. I went and talked to my coach, he explained to me that if I don’t stretch then bad things like this can happen. He also stated that the pain in my leg is just a slight pull of the hamstring and it will heal in a couple of days and that I have nothing to worry about, but I can’t run the rest of my event’s. I was okay with just running the first event. It really showed me what I can do and what my main event
