Personal Narrative: My First Trimester For LA/Lit

My first trimester for LA/Lit in 8th grade has been phenomenal. I have had very much to do in 8th grade from learning new concepts in math to Project 8 but, I truly have tried to put LA/Lit as one of my top priorities. This is because in past years I let LA/Lit “sit on the back burner” and have left it behind. This ended up slamming me in the face with an unacceptable grade. This year, I have made a turning point and have tried to change my perception and level of focus in LA/Lit.
Organization and preparation were a large part of this trimester. I really tried to step up to the plate and prepare for tests and quizzes more than usual. I have tried hard and put in long hours to prepare for assessments. I have also tried and succeeded in preparing for class by bringing all of the necessary supplies. This trimester, a large goal for me was not procrastinating and waiting till the last minute to do any assignments.

It is really fun sometimes and I enjoy most of the writing assignments and books we have read this trimester. The only thing that I do not like about the class is the amount of time you give us for writing essays and such. Except the Of Mice and Men essay rewrite, I feel we have not been given enough amount of time to write and let our thoughts truly become a whole idea. You can help me out by giving us one or two more days to really perfect our writing pieces.
Moving forward, I would like to set a few more goals for myself. In Wordly Wise, I would like to know the difference between two similar words, as this has been an obstacle for me this trimester. I am looking to do this by just putting the extra 10 or 15 minutes into really getting to know the words. I would also like to cut down on the number of careless errors I make when writing essays or taking quizzes. I will try to do this by re-reading my essays or answers not twice, but three
