My Hispanic heritage has instilled resilience and the ability to find the positive in any situation, which I cherish as a part of myself. My heritage comes from my parents, who grew up in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico. On my father's side, my grandmother is from the indigenous Mayos group in Navojoa, Sonora, while my mother's family is from Sinaloa, Mexico. I was born in Bisbee, Arizona, but raised in Agua Prieta. When I started school in Douglas, Arizona, I struggled to adapt to American culture and improve my English, often facing mockery due to my weak accent and poor pronunciation. But my family’s encouragement, like the saying, “No te rajes mija” (Don't give up) or "Si te pones a limpiar se te quita" (If you start cleaning, your sadness
