I was so used to living in a small apartment in Laredo that once we got a house in San Antonio it felt like we came a long way only to find out we had chosen a bad neighborhood. Continuous fights, people being mugged on a daily, and cars being broken into and stolen. As the years passed I realized who I was back in Laredo wasn’t who I am here in San Antonio, so after a few cases, court dates, and probation, I decided to turn my life around for the better. Once I got out of probation I didn’t smoke as much, I started saving up money and I quit skipping class. Many would say the environment one lives in shapes the type of person you are so whether that’s true or not I sure didn’t let it happen.
