Of all the Gator Good challenges the one that speaks to me most is Medicine and Disease. Within that category, I would be interested in helping to find a cure and raise awareness for cancer. Cancer has been a large part of my life; my grandmother is a survivor of colon cancer and my grandfather is a survivor of skin cancer. Many people within my town have also been diagnosed, and sadly many have not won their battle. Watching families be torn apart from all the stress and mixed emotions that cancer causes, break my heart. Due to this, I am a big volunteer in my town’s Relay for Life. I have participated in the event every year since it started, and my freshman year of high school, I became part of the committee as the Activities Chair.
