Growing up, I was exposed to several cultures. I was born in Lebanon and raised between Ivory Coast and France. As Mark Twain once said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness”. I agree with him. At school, for instance, whenever I studied Colombia, there was an emphasis on the insecurity of the country and the drug trade. My trip to Colombia showed me a completely different country then the one depicted to me in class and that I had pictured in my head. This brings me to the first reason I chose to go to AUP : the diversity of the students.
