Nashville, Tennessee. Waiting to hear the nurse call my last name. Smelling the antiseptic, I waited anxiously with my family. Why me? I asked myself… Why couldn’t there be surgical help closer to my uncle's house? Why couldn’t I have moved over just a few inches? Why did I have to go through this at a time I just wanted to be home? Luckily I wasn’t there alone, my family has always been there for me and will always be there for me.
I was dreading this trip… I had an awful cold and had to drive 8 hours to get to Tennessee to visit my uncle, aunt, and two cousins. Squished in the back seat, like sardines in a can, we drove down to Tennessee to spend a week with my family. After Sitting in the back with a pillow against the window, tissues in my hand, and luggage on top of my feet we finally pulled up to my Uncles home. I was glad to finally leave the car and see my family that I hadn’t seen in months. After a nice dinner I took medicine to clear my cold and slept on a couch in the basement. …show more content…
I was actually enjoying this trip once my cold was gone. It was wonderful to spend time with my family, eating s'mores by the fire, swimming in the pool, and going on wild adventures to places I’ve never seen before in Tennessee.
