First, I watched MODELING a very creative collaboration of real world and drawings. Even with its poor quality look, it was detailed enough to actually be clear with what was happening. I liked the ink into pen bit, very skillful and kinda realistic use of animation. I didn’t understand at first the connection between the clown cartoon and the guy get his head sculpture done other than they were being done in the same room, but then the clown broke out of the paper and started to interact with the guys and sculpture and then it was understandable. It was very creative to use the clay as a sort of stop motion prop when it was thrown and would hit someone. The movement of the clay as if the clown was actually inside of it was very creative. I thought it was interesting that I saw a similarity to Disney’s Mickey Mouse and other characters in some of Fleischer’s characters like the chef’s gloves had a resemblance to Mickey’s. I didn’t like that art style of the audience that the ‘camera’ would switch to whenever there was applause, they were just very odd, almost deformed with a different type of details and shadowing. As for Betty Boop, I never knew her mouth moved in that weird manner. Of all the cartoons I watched, this one was my least favorite for its strange art style and confusing
