Since this was a Musical, one of my greatest expectations was to see the choreography and for some unknown reason, I envisioned the ladies singing in these elaborate ballerina type purple dresses which I thought I could purchase at the end of the show! Go figure! I even thought of the amount of funds I needed to purchase one of the expensive costumes which I would sure acquire for keepsake of the memorable experience. Other expectations where that; I was going to learn many things, remember things I had forgotten, have lots of fun and I just be wowed!
The only thing I remembered about the 1980’s Movie: 9 to 5 or Nine to Five was that it had Dolly Parton as one of the main characters and that it was extremely funny! That was all I remembered. Since I had not been to a performance here in Ocala, I had no idea the seats filled up so quickly! I made plans to purchase tickets as “early” as Thursday for the Saturday’s performance. Previous Ocala Civic Theatre roles, among many over the years, include Mr. Lyons in Blood Brothers, Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Lank Hawkins in Crazy for You, Sir Bliant in Camelot, Aggie in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz.
