My hands were trembling in fear and my body was drenched in sweat. I was extremely nervous as my stern, grey-haired, loud talking driving instructor entered the vehicle. I thought I was ready to take my test until my scary instructor opened his mouth.
“I hope you know what you're doing. This wouldn't be my first time I would have to fail a student.”
That was the absolute last thing that I wanted to hear before I had to start the dreadful parking test. Parking was my worst attribute of operating a motorized vehicle even though it was all I practiced in my free time. I slowly rolled the car to the orange cones as I was instructed moments before. My stern mannered instructor got out of the car once more to set up the first drill.

What felt like hours but in reality was only a few minutes, my instructor sat back inside the car to begin the test. This was it. There was no turning back. I could feel my stomach churn and continued to sweat like a pig on a hot day.
“You first have to get the hood of the car within two feet of that yellow line. Once you do that, you will parallel park between those two cones. Good luck.”
I thought I would be prepared for those words but I wasn't. I put the car in drive and started my test. I wasn't worried about the first test and sure enough, I was right on the line and scored perfectly but then the challenging part had finally approached. I again put the car in drive and continued forward. I stopped the car about 3 feet away from where I should’ve and had to make up for it quickly. My nerves didn’t go away, they only got worse. I put the car in reverse and backed into the cones as best I could without losing points. At the end of the test, the instructor got back to check my performance.
“I will pass you but you need to do a little better with parallel parking, you barely made it
