I looked at the open façade of what appeared to be an average office building. The unimposing cement exterior with the simple, professional title “Buddhist Temple of San Diego” was the only hint that I was in the right place. Unlike the Hindu temple I last visited, this temple’s exterior was more reserved, not standing out as a place of auspicious worship.
