Personal Narrative: The Great Mistake: Six Flags

The Great Mistake My great mistake was certainly going to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Magic mountain is known as the “Thrill capital of the world” and certainly has some of the scariest rides in the world. Therefore, it is home to some of the tallest loops, fastest rides, and one of the tallest roller coasters and drop towers on Earth! In seventh grade, I decided that I would learn to like roller coasters because CJSF was taking us for the first time to Six Flags! Previously, I had ridden rides like Cars and Indiana Jones, but they couldn’t prepare me for this. After a little research, I found two rides I thought I could get on. Those were Gold Rush and Ninja, which both had no loops, no drops, and weren’t fast.

I then decided that I had to ride! After waiting for a half hour, I was freaking out. I repeatedly watched the cart launch into the massive loop, but the crazy thing was that everyone loved it! When the time came, I had no choice except to ride. After waiting for this long, I realized that if I couldn’t ride this, I would be skipping rides all day. We sat down, the restraints came down, and it was only a lap bar! This meant I would be hanging 160 feet in the air with nothing but a bar keeping me from plummeting to my death. My heart was pounding, and I heard “3,2,1 go!’ It didn’t go! Then to my surprise, two seconds later, it launched. I loved that ride and it quickly became my favorite ride ever! The misery was so worth it! It was such a rush that I was able to will myself on Goliath with it’s 235 foot drop! In the end, my mistake paid off. Consequently, I now love roller coasters and have been on rides like X2, Tatsu, Xcelerator, and much more. I learned that you only live once, and some of the hardest things in life are the most rewarding. When I try new things, I will discover new and amazing
