As a youth volunteer, high school student aide, and officer for multiple organizations, I discovered that speaking went beyond Theater and social events. In the summer, my favorite event to volunteer for is FBC’s Vacation Bible School. There, I work as either a student youth leader for children or a student youth actor where I teach kids The Lord’s word. Needless to say, social skills and the ability to speak effectively is a necessary skill. Through speech, I have found that easing children out of their shy states, conveying Bible stories in a way children can enjoy and, therefore, remember, and creating connections between children, myself, and The Lord is more enduring and effective. This past summer, I was fortunate enough to intern at the WFAA Studio in Dallas where I plunged into the professional setting that ventured beyond the standards of a cubicle job. I not only got to work with some of ABC's most favored news anchors, but I experienced live: the different shows held throughout the day, interviews between a range of ages, script writing, in-person meetings with the channel's executive producers, and international breaking news. As amazing as that all was, the "icing on the cake" for me was when I was recorded announcing that evenings broadcast stories off the tele-camera. To say the least, the entire experience was surreal and I plan on interning again this coming summer. Throughout the rest of the year, however, I am an intern at a financial services company. With that said, I plan on attending a four-year university post-graduation and majoring in either the business field and/or journalism. In fact, my aspirations in life for the future are to found my own business and become either a professional speaker and/or
