Every single day, I wanted to quit but, I had no choice. The bathrooms remained dirty, the kitchen remained full of unwashed dishes and community spirit was just an ideal that we never sought to achieve. The worst part was that every other night there would be roommates fighting and shouting at each other. I could not bear living in a dorm like this as a freshman student at the African Leadership Academy: I had to make a change for my peers and the upcoming freshmen generation. Hopefully, The Residential Assistant (RA) Application came out and it represented a chance for me to stand up and improve the living conditions in my dorm.
