It was alarmed , specially when we would run away from the police. Nothing would get in our ways, we kept going. At times I would tell my mom “why can't we just go back home I miss it. I want to sleep in my bed not on the ground or other people's houses… I haven't had a real meal in days mom I'm thirsty and hungry please mom lets go home. “ but my mom wouldn't listen to me she would just burst out crying saying “we going to make it mama’s. We are almost there. “
July 13 , 2004 was the day we stepped a foot in Oklahoma. My father and brother were happy to finally see us again. I learned that if you set your mind to accomplish something you can do anything you desire.Since then I have appreciated everything that comes through my way because not everyone makes it through the border. Not everyone has the opportunity that I have , to have a great education so someday I can become someone in life. This journey taught me a lot. Some of us take everything as a joke at school and life and not notice that there's others out there willing to have what we have. Life gets hard once you start turning to an adult. We forget what's the whole purpose of why we are here and what got us
